Do you struggle with wearing socks?
I have been working on making my perfect sock: a stim to make and a stim to wear. Pulling loops through other loops takes care of my need to move my hands in pattern. There are myriad possibilities when making clothes to fit a form, and it is the consideration of the specific details that gives power to address all the space it can take up. These socks fit my sensory needs.
I wore them to the textile research lab, a meaningful occasion, but nobody noticed the socks inside my shoes and under my trouser hem. The sunlight faded the lemon yellow colour when I put them out on display.
To everyone who has acknowledged the validity of socks.
